Bad Intake Air Thermosensor

'91 N/A

FSM says that the voltage at idle should be between 1 and 2. Mine is reading 0.5. I assume the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. How does a bad sensor affect engine operation? Gas mileage? Idle?

Also, there is no engine error code showing for this sensor when I dump them. Is 0.5 volts acceptable?

Kind of a technical question, but I thought some of you might be able to shed some light.

Here's what I found out after further review...
With the engine cold, key on not started, voltage showed at 1.67, perfectly within spec range
Engine cold start up and idle, voltage showed 1.67 and over the course of about a minute bled down to 0.5 volts where it stayed. My conclusion is that it performed the way it was supposed to and the sensor is fine.
