Backfire
Hey :D
I was wondering if an RX-7 or any other rotary engine car will always backfire if you slow the RPM's down.   :whip: |
no, not really, at least on 2nd gen
unless you have ditched the Air Control Valve (which contains the Anti Afterburn Valve) and the air pump (to a lesser extent) I am talking about sudden deceleration here check my page (in signature) under emissions->secondary air and deceleration hugues - |
what generation rex do you have?
on a 1st gen or carbed engine its an inactive shutter valve that could cause this. the shutter valve's purpose is (when slowing quickly) is shuts off fuel to the rear rotor, preventing it from backfiring. its an emissions thing, you dont need an active shutter valve. but if you have a 1st gen, that could be the cause (i dont wanna say 'problem' cuz its really not a problem. |
Thanks
