autometer sports comp gauges

are they fairly accurate and reliable
from their pricing i don't kno...
but i'm kind of short on cash right now
I'm looking to buy the boost, water temp, a/f gauge, and battery gauges
Can anyone recommend some gauges that are good but not overpriced?

my autometer boost gauge sure is not.

when my boost gauge is:
At 3 psi my EBC reads 3 psi
At 8 psi my EBC reads 7 psi
At 12 psi my EBC reads 10 psi

Wow. Are there any brands/models out there who someone has subjected to this same type of test? What were the results?

montego which type do you have? ultra lite, sports comp, or something else?

^^sports comp.

From what everyone says just buy a defi. That's what I'm gonna get. Well maybe, since the profec B reads my real boost and the autometer is consistently off I really don't need one.

Also if you are short in cash don't even bother geting the A/F gauge. Use that money to buy a more expensive boost gauge. A/F gauges are not very useful (unless it's a wideband). I use mine just to notice patterns on how my car is running. For example, when I first start my car it idles really bad and my gauge read lean. As it warms up, it moves to a richer enviroment and that's where the car likes to be. I should note that my car has a mild streetport though.

Honestly, the best thing is to just bite the bullet and pony up $300 bucks for a profec B spec II. It's accurate up to 1/10 of a psi and it reads it in real time. It catches minor spikes that you don't even see on the gauge nor on the real time display, but it registers it on the highest last boost display. Besides you are gonna need a boost controller if you plan to mod the car or already have so.
