auto trans to manual trans help...

hey guys i need help with wiring up my manual trans plz... i already was able to get the rear loghts to work.. but then i can't get the wiring to make the car start... i am yet to test the starter... but i'm thinking it's still good.. and then since it was an automatic the clutch switch was already bypassed... so that's done... all i need to to wire up the tranny... it's either those wires for the tranny or it's the wires for the engine... i connected everything i can think of in the car and everything works... lights and horn and everything.. but it just doesn't crank.. even the fuel pump works.. so i dunno i've been trying to figure it out but i haven't gotten any luck... if you guys know how to wire up the s4 N/A tranny plz tell me specifics... liek wire colors and how wut connectors look like... thank you.. suggestions are more than welcomed..

if you posted this in 2nd Generation Specific (1986-1992) you'd get a lot more help. And you should search a little bit..cause I think that there are a lot of write ups/questions about this...

You probably wired the starter wrong if its not making any effort to crank (assuming the starter doesnt make any noise).

Here's a good thread

Did you change your ecu?

i didn't know i had to change ecu.... the ecu does not have anything to do with anything... the automatic transmition has its own independent computer.... but the manual does not have a computer

you need to wire your manual trans to the couple of wires in the car where the auto shifter used to be for the reverse lights...you do not need a new ecu as far as I know since when you remove the ECU and engine harness, your transmission wires/drivers side harness is left in place.
Just make sure you wire the reverse lights correct

i was able to get the reverse lights working... and since i can't get the starter to crank... i'm going to wire up an engine start button... with a relay and everything... however... if anybody tells me how to connect those wires for the manual tranny... i'd rather do that
