ATTN: engine rebuilders! lol

I have a question! duh!

I just recently Bought a JDM S5 t2 keg hte motor was installed and pulled because it was "pouring oil" out the front exhaust port But ran okish I grabbed it from that guy for $400

I tore the motor Down Found 2 stuck side seals, Corner seal and a damaged rotor bearing the E-shaft has just some light discolouration no scoring that i can feel with my Nail and it measures out the same as the other Rotor journal on the E-shaft

The Oil control rings look good

What could cause this, im about to put this motor back together (its super mint and clean internally and everything it Very easily within specs)

I don't want to put it back together and have this happen to me, Could it have been an oil pressure regulator?

The stuck side seals, Just a thought, but the side seals would probably cause oil to be sucked though the oil control rings on rotors during the intake cycle and burn it during combustion, as well as forcing heat from combustion into center of rotor and bearing area(thus the bearing damage).

don't be a dummy and try to reuse the old oil seals. as far as cause, cant tell without pictures and more specifics on clearances

No im not going to reuse them I just want to be sure it was because of the Sideseals

oil only leaks into the housings due to oil seal issues or irons that have excessively worn oil seal surfaces.

Irons are flat tested with a dial indicator

So i'm guessang all it could be are the oil control rings along with the side seals being stuck? okay check

how would just one bearing wear out? is it common? i have a new bearing to press in i just donw want this one to get messed up

GoodfellaFD3S 06-03-10 11:24 PM

Did you check the wear on the oil control rings (the metal ones)?

Was it over ported into the oil seal vicinity?
