You can get a rough estimate by rotating the eshaft and listening for 6 "puffs".

You cant really get numbers unless its in the car though, atleast that I know of.

not really, you can connect the trans and the starter then jump the starter. i've yet to hear some one do that but it'd be the only way.

While developing my digital compression tester I did exactly that. A spare 13BREW with a TII transmission bellhousing and starter bolted to it, all mounted on an engine stand. Works like a champ. Keep in mind that the engine will be completely cold so the numbers will be off slightly.
