Amemiya compression booster
I did not have much time to look it over this past weekend but I opened the new Option/ Option 2 magazine at a bookstore and came across a new RE Amemiya product. It is some sort of high pressure spray that you plumb inot the engine through the spark plug holes. The ad had before and after pics of the compression readings and they were pretty impressive. I will see if I can buy the magazine today somewhere and get you all some photos of this new product.
Sorry i know this thread is worthless without pics are actual statistics. Just curious if anyone else has seen or heard of this product. Tom |
I saw this new product in my new RX-7 Magazine I got this week. It's called,"LM-0910RE HI POWER JET G" It is made by the company called,"LIQUI-MOLY". I don't believe it is a RE Amemiya product, but RE Amemiya might endorsing it. The package comes with two spray cans. One with a white cap called,"LM-1404, and one with a clear black top, and that is,"LM-0910RE". It retails for 6,930YEN.

The before compression was (7.5, 7.2, 7.3) for the front, and (7.5, 7.4, 7.4) on the rear utilizing the mazda compression tester. The after compression was (8.3 ,8.4, 8.5) for the front, and (7.9, 7.6, 7.8) for the rear. Sorry I can't help much since I can't take photos at the moment.

We didn't, we both saw the ad in two different magazines. He saw it in his Option 2 mag, and I saw it in a RX-7 Mag.

I don't see how spraying something in the engine would be able to permanently raise an engine's compression reading. If it did, it would probably be like fixing a radiator leak with Leak Stop.
Besides, it would probably work just as well on a piston engine, although you'd probably gain more on a rotary since poor compression is one of the things that makes rotaries gas-hogs. Also, scans or GTFO :) |
Trispeed i think we are definately speaking the same product and i think you are right that Amemiya is just endorsing or selling it. Anyhow Valkyrie, this product claims to be used on piston engines as well. i think it is similar to the atf/brake cleaner trick in how it raises compression. I think it is just a carbon eating or cleaning chemical in one can and then a lubricant that is sprayed in after at a high pressure.
Either way those figures are pretty impressive and for all the guys that argue about atf and brake cleaner or steam cleaning being hard on rubber seals this one seems to have a lubricant for after use to make sure no damage occurs. Oh and I believe this is all done with the engine off and not cranking because it comes with supply hoses that are inserted into the engine. for about 55-60 us dollars raising your compression that much is a good deal IMO. I will try this out before I tear apart my engine just for test sake. |

I bet it's some super viscous oil that ups the compression temporarily.

Blah, if an engine is getting low compression then parts need to be replaced! I wouldn't bother with such a product.

lol so after 1.3 e-shaft rotation the spray is out the exhaust
should i retrofit my omp lines to spray this in stead of oil ? low compression=rebuild .. not spray as you go |
