AFM Question. PLEASE HELP

OkI know there are tons of guys out there who are far more knowledgable then me. So wherever you guys are please help me. I keep asking for help,. but no one responds. Someone has to have an asnwer for me! Here's the deal...

I have a 1988 10th Anniversary. (Turbo...)

While driving down the road it just died. No weird noises. Just died. Pop started it and it started, then died right away. Hasn't started since. I've tried the unflooding procedure tons of times... Nothing. It has compression. It sounds like it wants to start. but just doesn't. I've set the timing. I've tested the ecu and all the sensors. But One sensor in particular was strange to me. Accordng to the FSM, the way to test the Air Flow Meters measuring plate is to test the Resistance between E1 And FC. Fully closed this shoudl be infinate Resistance. Fully open this should be 0 ohms. I tested mine. Fully cloes it read OL (Out of limit; infinate ohms). This is good. Fully Open it reads 0 ohms. This is also good. However... One would assume that from closed to open the ohms would gradually drop to O depending on the amount the door is open. Mine does not. The slightest pressure on the door to open ti and it goes straigh tto 0 ohms. So it's Infinate when closed, and anythign other then that it's 0. So My questions are these... Is this supposed to be this way? If not, then could this cause my problem with my car not starting/ having died? Is this common? Where can I get another AFM. Please help!
