Advice on Oil to use

I am new to the Rotary / Wankel engine and need to do my first oil change. First off, what is the BEST oil to use for engine life. Any little things I should look for while I'm down there? How about any tips or tricks? Thanks again to all.

thanks

Wow, 20w50? That isn't too thick? Is it because the rotary runs hotter than a standard piston engine?

P.S.
I did search. So much crap came up that I thought a simple post would suffice.

Actually, 20W-50 is the best weight to use during hot weather. In very cold weather it would make starting tough and warmup slower. Most folks who don't buy fancy types like Royal Purple recommend Castrol GTX. I have used Havoline in my rotaries with great results. Again either 10W-30 or 20W-50.

You will also see arguments about using synthetics. If you are independently wealthy, you can use a synthetic, but make it a good one like Royal Purple or even Mobil 1. Question is though why spend that extra $$. You should change the oil in a rotary engine every 2500-3000 miles anyway, so the extended wear benefit of a synthetic is lost.

Now for the Xmission and rear end you should go with a high quality synthetic. Neo, Redline, Royal Purple

Rotaries are different animals! These forums contain a wealth of information...use them wisely, rookie
