Acetone Additive...?

Alright, so I have been recently reading about pure Acetone added to your gasoline in small amounts. Apparently, Acetone changes the boiling point making the fuel vaporize easier.

Now yeah, great for piston engines. Rotaries have had fuel problems due to fuel sticking to the trochoid shaped chambers. The 16x engine concept is supposed to be helping this problem a lot. With the 16x, this gave the engine better fuel efficiency, more HP and more Torque. Anyone tried this with their rotary, with before and after dyno results?

I saw no improvement on my 12a when I tried it. What happened was it actually dislodged a chunk of something and clogged a fuel line which made my motor run super lean and I lost a apex seal.

For turbo cars (not nec. for N/A rotaries)

You can add Tolulene or Xylene. Safely increases the octane rating and can be found at some paint stores or home depot. Runs about $16.00 per gallon though. Do a google search for rocket fuel.

Octane won't change the vaporization point, though. The idea with the Acetone was to keep the fuel from sticking to the chamber walls. Has anyone else tried it?

notveryhappyjack....could it be a coincidence or?

I have been using Acetone in my 7 for 2 years now. I add 2 OZ per 10 gallons of fuel. I have had no issues with it and have seen an increase of 1-2 MPG.

I have also used it in my Dodge truck with similar gains.
