93 still working, and I'm still working on it too - OIL LEAK

93 3rd gen with 68K miles on it.

Running fine and no complaints but now have new problem.

Saw some smoke coming from under the hook while stopped for red light and when I got home and looked under the hood, I saw a small oil leak which was smoking due to the heat of the engine.

I don't know where EXACTLY the leak is coming from and hope that it is something which can be easily fixed with a new hose or tightening some clamp. Upon looking at my driveway where I park this car, there are some small areas of oil drops, so although this seems to occur most when the car is hot, it may not be a brand new issue.

Here are pics of the leaking area with a pencil pointing to the crusted smoking oily area.

Thanks for the help.

Wow.. 40 views but no help yet.

Does anyone even know where the oil leak is coming from? Is it seeping up from the engine or is there an oil line running nearby?

Upon further review, it seems to only leak when the oil pressure gets to 80psi or above... so as long as I don't accelerate strongly, all I have is the oil already there to smoke.

Also, just had an oil change and am wondering if overfilling with oil can cause this type of problem. Did the oil change at a Jiffy Lube for convenience and I had to show them where and how to remove the oil filter...

Thanks for any and all help you can offer.

Have you pulled your y-pipe coupler to check to see if the oil is coming out of it? You also have the stock turbo oil line connection in that area. Get dirty! Start removing things to see what's going on.

Make sure you look at the Oring on the Y pipe. The connection is right over the downpipe and could cause the same problem. After that I would check those turbos.
