'93 RX7 fast idle

I just recently removed my upper intake and throttle body and had them polished. After replacing all these parts and hoses, I started my car and it immediately accelerated to 4,000 RPMs and stayed there. I have tapped the gas pedal to try to bring the RPMs down, but no luck. I shut it off, and after 5 minutes restarted it and again, it immediately went to 4,000 RPMs.

Any suggestions as to the cause?

throttle cable is to tight?

There is also an idle screw that can be adjusted

Most high idle situations after working on the car are vacuum leaks after the throttle body. Manifold gaskets are often where they are. Try spraying water while it's running around the gaskets. If the idle suddenly changes, you've found where it's leaking.

Happened to me, But it wasn't exactly the throttle cable from the pedal, but rather the cable to the cruise control. The housing for the cable got caught on the cruise control box cable inlet.

could *possibly* be a faulty AWS. It happened to me...just went bad the day i put my UIM back on, and it caused the idle to go no lower than 3k. That combined with the fact that i put a ground inbetween the LIM and UIM gave me one helluva high idle.
