90 Mazda Rx7 - Oil Metering Pump

Is There Any Way That I Can Disconnect The Electronic Oil Metering Pump On My 90 Mazda Rx7 Without The Computer
Going Into Failsafe Or Limp Mode?

Not my area of expertise, but I'm sure that it's possible to rig it so that the omp is bypassed by the electrical circuitry.

I'm assuming that you intend to run premix instead. While this is the simplest solution and provides a thorough mix, there is another option that allows you to still use the omp (thereby circumventing the limp mode problem) while drawing 2-cycle oil from a separate reservior.

This metering pump adapter is manufactured by PCV industries in Florida and sold via rotaryaviation.com for about $90 US for the one you require. Takes about an hour to install.

What this unit does is it bolts between the omp and the omp mounting surface on the front cover, acting as a block-off plate to keep engine oil in the engine. Instead it is fed 2-cycle oil (recommend TCW-3 type--- it burns cleanest) from a separate reservior supplied by and installed by you. A Nissan power steering reservior, a few hose clamps, 90 degree elbows and a length of fuel hose is all you need.

The adapter has an extension shaft through it so that it can drive the omp via the stock shaft. Just bolt it into place. (Longer bolts are supplied with the adapter as is the o-ring seal.

I've been running one of these on my 1st gen 12A for about a year and a half. Works fine.

You can do a few temporary fixes but the only way to really fix the problem is to get a new ECU.

I Am Familiar With The External Oil Reservoir But I Am Trying To
Bypass The Electronic Oil Metering Pump.

When You Say Get A New Ecu Do You Mean Having One Programed
Without The Limp Mode?

What Are The Temporary Fixes That You Mentioned?
