89 rx7 rebuild recommendations

Hi,

I've got an 89 RX-7 GTUs with 145000 miles.
Unfortunately it's got a leaking rotor housing
o-ring. I tried the quick fix, since I had
nothing to lose:

This worked for about 4 months, but now the
leak is back. I'm trying the fix again, but
I suspect that in the near term I will need an
engine rebuild. I'd like to rebuild the engine
so that it lasts at least as long as the engine I
have now. I'm interested in long-term reliability
since I plan to keep the car.

Does anyone have recommendations for where to
have a rebuild done in the San Diego area? Is
there something to do during the rebuild so the
o-rings will be less likely to leak or to make
the engine even more reliable?

Thanks for any advice/suggestions.

hey, i'm from la jolla/sd area... i just took my car in today for some service to pb foreign and domestic. i was talking to the guy and i think they used to specialize in rx7's. i briefly asked him about rebuilds... i think he said that they can still do it, but that they mostly just buy motors and swap them in. i'm not sure how big they are into aftermarket stuff... but i guess you could look them up and give them a call.
