88 FC turbo 2 no spark on T2 coil

What would cause T2 coil to not have spark when cranking? I have spark on L1,L2 & T1 but nothing on T2. I ruled out the spark plug wires and plugs.

Welcome to the board. ;)

Some ideas
- dead coil
- broken wire (power or signal)

Thanks,
I have 2 trailing coils and both do the same no spark on T2. I took the coil caps off and switched the wires from T1 to the T2 side and T2 sparked and T1 didn’t. Im thinking wire or ecu issue. I need to figure out the wire I need to trace for the T2 side. I’m also running a Adaptronic series 4 ECU. I’m still learning how to use it but I’m pretty sure I can test spark with it.

I've worked with more than one of them and wires have literally fallen apart in my hand with no applied force whatsoever. You should be able to just get some wire and connectors, and try fixing it. You can get a copy of the FSM at Foxed.ca

I actually just replaced every wire and connector in the engine harness over the past few weeks. I cleaned up all the crusty wires and fixed a ton of previous owners crappy wiring. Before I did these repairs T2 wasn’t firing. I figured with all new wiring it would be fixed.

what alternator is that?

Sounds like the flip/flop function isn't working on your trailing coils' igniter. Either from incorrect wiring since you just replaced everything or both are bad in your coils.

If you're not aware the FC only has a single igniter on the trailing coils but since it isn't wasted spark it literally flips back and forth between the two coils.

It has to be how the ecu is programmed. I was messing with the ignition settings and I was able to get it to fire but still no start. Im pretty sure it’s flooded and I also just realized the fuel pressure regulator vacuume line was connected to a plugged port on upper intake manifold. My fsm points it going to lower intake manifold so I corrected that.
