87-rx idle serg and lights flicker
 
When i start the car the RPM's Go up to 3k then about a sec later they drop to about 800,,

Then the RPMS will serge from 800 to 1000, and back down over and over the hole time the car is running!! And when i turn on my lights they don't turn off but the get dim and brighten back up over and over all the light's and my volts show chargeing 14 but as the lights and motor do there thing the volts thing also goes up and down to from 12 to 14,, i don't understand,,

The idle surge is typically caused by either a out of adjustment TPS or a vacuum leak. First, make sure the TPS is adjusted and then set the idle speed according to spec. If the surging problem still persists, you may have a vacuum leak. The other problem sounds purely electrical. RX-7's have lots of grounds that can get bad with time. Check your engine grounds.

There is another thing you might want to check. The BAC valve controls a lot of the idle functions. They are pretty easy to remove. You might want to remove it give it a good cleaning. While you have it off you can test it's function and resistance settings.

i changed my alternator and problem solved.
i had flickering lights but no idle issues.
maybe needs alternator and you might have a vaccum leak.
