2stroke Fuel
thought i saw this in a thread earlier but couldnt find it in a search
i want to give my car something with a bit more bang to it to try to blast out some carbon buildup a shop near me sells 2stroke fuel with the composition: 62% Methyl Alcohol 18% Oil 20% NitroMethane thoughts / suggestions? |
Umm.. It is a bit late in the AM for me.. but If I remember correctly.. Too much Nitro will eat the aluminum of the parts in the fuel system if you let it sit.... Also too much alky.. that will melt some of the rubber style parts.
Sounds like Radio control Car or Airplane fuel.. That would be a no-no In the real car.. BTU's TOTALLY different etc.. YOu would need to completely re-tune your car to make it run. I mean if it is carby.. totally changing all the bleeds and jets... FI better be stand alone.. and have a lot of lattitude to change the fuel rates. More importantly I think it would simply be detrimental to the fuel system. |
not really sure about the physical chemistry involved with that fuel, but i doubt if the returns you seek would be present or worth the possible problems.
take a gander HERE. i'm not going to choose a side, but i usually use MMO in my oil and fuel (and have noticed significant highway mileage increase, to boot) - but my point is these methods are more familiar, if not effective. |
damn
well there goes that idea :) |
