1993 RX7 FD will not start

So I have been having trouble getting my car to start. Thought it might be the starter so I replaced that and it will not start still. My friend then found that the plunger the pushes the clutch assembly in so the car recognizes that the clutch is in was broken, so we fixed that and the car started 4 or 5 times. But then later that day the car would not start again. The battery is good and the car will click(makes a noise idk how to describe it) up front but it will not crank or turnover. The car will bump start but that is all. Not really sure what the problem could be as I am not the best mechanic. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the kick panel on the left in the drivers side is a blue and black security relay. Get a heavy gauge wire and connect the two biggest wires from behind while the relay is connected. Start the car and see if it's the security system or not.

So does the starter turn over the motor, or not?

If it turns the motor, need to check the 3 basic things necessary for an engine to fire: Compression, Spark (at the right time), and Gas. I would start with compression

If it doesn't turn the motor, it's probably a starter/elec problem. However to rule out a frozen rotor, try turning the motor by hand with a socket on the e-shaft. Rotate it clockwise facing the engine. This may be hard with the plugs in and all the belts tightened.

The car has no problem running if I bump start it, the car will run and idle fine. But when I try and turn the key to start it nothing happens. I still need to try the security bypass.

No crank bump start yes

I am having the same problem. Hope you get your car started. Make sure all your connections to the starter are on super tight. Also could be the ignition switch.

i sell a relay kit that fixes the issue for most of the FDs with the issue you describe. you can PM me if you are interested.

Well if it is indeed a relay issue then i may have to pm you

more of a workaround, the issue is usually in the relays inside the car causing a drop in power, taking the amperage from the circuit that needs to kick over the starter solenoid. the workaround turns the ignition circuit into a low amp trigger instead of a high amp circuit, preserving the functionality that remains and bypassing it.
