1988 rx7 has no pull at all
1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys, my rx7 has no power whatsoever. If I go up a hill I will almost stall. Even in first gear. Was told it was vacuum leak at manifold. Replaced the intake manifold gasket and mass air flow still doing the same thing.
Thanks in advance! http://maps.google.com/maps/api/stat...00&sensor=true |
Maybe a clogged intake manifold? I remember reading where a older lady drove the car, never abused it, and when the new owner was going through the gears, he got an instant boost of power ( like a turbo coming on) and someone said it was probably a clogged runner

I'm the 4th owner it has 157000 original miles. I will check that out tomorrow when I'm not working. But makes sense. Thanks man

Also I have very low oil pressure constantly like the gauge says around 15 lbs/in don't know about rotories but that's very low for internal combustion |
Check spark plug wires are going to the right plugs.
Check your spark plugs. Check your timing. While car is idling, spray carb cleaner on any joints in the intake piping, under the manifold, anywhere you suspect a leak and listen for a change. Clogged cats are also a possibility. |

I had an issue like this, it ended up being a dirty fuel filter. Just my 2 cents.

Also I just unbolted from the manifold that piece of clean pipe is what I was talking about |
That pipe is where someone deleted the Main cataltyic converter but left the small split air pipe on so that you would not lose your aux port activation...but who knows if the split air pipe is actually doing it's job unless you know if the Aux ports are actually opening up.
Look up Port actuators on an S4 and you should be able to sift through info on how to check them. |

Also what is this piece it has honeycomb inside it and not sure if I should clean it out |
look at the stock configuration for the s4 N/a exhaust system. It has a couple of Cats. One being a pre-cat and then you have the main cat that has that split air tube attached to it.
Hopefully this shows up so you can see it. LINK:https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/mor...329&cc=1192317 |
