13b re vs 13brew

whats the diffrence in specs and horsepower and what would be the best one to fit in a fc ,also i want to run single turbo and do i need a new engine mount frame to relocate it any replies will help, i can get either of these for $1300 i got to pull it w/ecu harness and small nick nacks that are around the engine bay

13bt will be the best bet. Drops right in.

evileagle 06-15-05 06:27 PM

I've done a couple of both, and trust me, the 13B-RE is a much easier swap. Not quite as powerful as the REW, but its a much easier swap. You're going to have to use different motor mounts, there are many custom made ones available online from various retailers.

yeah i have 13bt right know but i want to get this 13bre or rew
so you say the 13bre will give more power whats the specs on them

sub9lulu 06-15-05 06:29 PM

13bt / 13b re will make just as much power if you put some cash in
people make more HP with the rew (FD) basically because they put more cash in

cash is always a key factor in this sport but what would be more reliable street and track

gingenhagen 06-15-05 07:28 PM

i would say 13bt is the best for money, reliability, and ease of swap (no swap required). Unless your goal is over 400 HP. Then you'll probably need to swap in a 13b-rew or mayhaps 20b.

a properly built, modded and tuned engine regardless if it is a 13BRE, 13BREW or a 13BT.

Alex Rodriguez 06-15-05 07:39 PM

so i should stay with my turbo2,well in that case i want to work from the inside out.For my internals what seals and apexes should i use and what name brand ,also what kind of port work would be suitable for street/track , just the core work for now later will be the mods

The Cosmo 13B-RE is a much easier engine to install at this point in time.
There are lots of pre-fabbed engine adapters that make this engine drop-in.

The FD3S 13B-REW is a little more involved to get it to fit.
