13b Differences?
I was reading up on the 13b and saw it came in the 2nd and 3rd generation. Can anyone tell me the difference of teh two? Also any specs and ratings? (turbo version only)
Thanks, John |
well there are 4 (maybe 5) versions of the 13B engine, in the US.
one in a Previous RX-7 car, the 13B in the GSL-SE 1st gen, the 13B in the 86-88 2nd gen, 13B intg he 89-91 2nd gen, and the 13B in the 3rd gens. The 87-88 Turbo 13B had heavier rotors, and did not boos as hight as the others following. Then there is the 89-91 13B these had lighter rotors, and better intake and Vacuum set up and gave it more power (14-17 HP depoendign on the Version) After that was the 13B-RE(or REW) no sure. Thsi was the one in the 3rd gens. Internaly thise were the same as the 89-91 13B engines, but externaly they had better Turbo set ups, and better intake vacuum and, well prety much Everything external was better. 87-88 13B Turbo : 183 HP 89-91 13B Turbo : 200 HP 93-95 (US) 13B Twin Turbo: 255 HP This is just a rough explenation, I'm sure some one else will give you a link to better info. |
