13b compatible Transmissions

Hello all, I am thinking of getting myself a 93 RX-7 and the one I'm looking at may need a new transmission. What would you suggest?
The engine is mostly stock with the stock twin turbos.

Please forgive the directness of my answer, but this kind of question for a first post really belongs in the New Member Technical Section. The short answer to your question is any Rotary Engine since I believe 1974 can bolt up to any Rotary Engine's transmission from I believe 1974. Every bellhousing was standardized then so you can mix and match.

The in-depth answer is that you should stick with one from another FD (93-02 RX7). If the one you are eyeing is an automatic, it would be a good time to do an Auto to Manual Conversion. Japan-spec FD manual transmissions can be found relatively cheaply and the rest of the conversion isn't too difficult either. It's mostly "remove 4 bolts to remove this part for an Automatic, then bolt on the same part for a Manual". There are a couple of hidden caveats such as the clutch pedal (they're rather pricey at ~$350), but the rest is pretty straightforward.

I'd like to refer you to the New Member Section so you can check out the Second and Third Generation FAQs to better acclimate yourself with the wealth of knowledge available, including the Factory Service Manuals.
