13b card swap into 2nd gen

I have a 13b wankel that is carburated (4-barrel). I was looking at some of the 1st gen rx-7's and it has the same mounts as a GSL-SE. It is carburated tho... This is a stock engine that came out of a rolled car. It came with a 5-speed tranny. I was thinking that it was from an rx-5, but im not sure... I got the engine torn apart for rebuild purposes. If anyone knows what car this is from or have any questions so I can find this information out please ask. I want to swap this into a 89 TII body and put a turbo on it. I dont know if the engine mounts in the 2nd gen are any different or what not.

well, if it's one of the old 13B's (original Cosmo, Rx-4, Rotary pick up) then it's not going to fit in an 89 chassis without modifying the car. in my opinion, it wouldn't be worth the effort, but obviously you're free to do whatever you wish.

the Gen II cars mount their engines from the center housing, and the mounting points are cast with the housing itself. the other issue is that the intake manifold from the T2 will not bolt up to that engine, so that will be another issue to consider.

I was thinking the same thing, just needed someone to confirm it for me. I can ask my cousin what it was in, I got it from his dad, he was the boner that rolled the car. I dont think he will know but orth a shot. I might just get the Gen II t2 and put the 13b into a Gen I. So I guess I'll be rebuilding 2 engines... Thanks

yeah ... that would be perfect for a Gen I!!!!

either way, i don't think those old 13B's are easy to come by, so you might want to keep it anyway you lucky so-and so :D
