130 amp alternator swap wiring questions

Hey guys! I'm new to the forum and I am also sorta new to rotaries in general. I've recently had some charging issues with my 88 N/A vert and I'm trying to work them out. I came to the conclusion that with my upgraded double din radio and upgraded speakers that my alternator wasn't able to supply much juice. Considering the fact that it was rated at 65 amps,Ii decided to move forward with the 130 amp Ford Taurus alternator swap. Now, I have done the grinding of the ear, adjusted the adjustment bracket so it sits nice and tight but now I'm kind of lost on how to upgrade my battery cable to 4GA from the alternator to the battery. Do I completely tear out the old cable from B+ terminal on the back of the alternator all the way down through the wiring harness past the stater and back up through the top? I'm not an electrical guru as i wish that i was but a few pointers would be nice. I cant seem to find any info on this subject in the forum probably because im making it harder than it actually is but any help would be appreciated!

I kept the original cable with no issues

Did it still run adequately? What are you volts reading?

I ran an additional 4ga cable until I get my new harness installed. Having both doesn't cause any harm aside from visually looking a little tacky. Electrical always benefits from less resistance.

Yes it did. My Volta are always at 14.7. Very glad I did the swap
