Well after a failed day of painting, this is what I came up with. Not too bad in pictures but there's alot of orange peel. Sounds crazy but I'm going to sand it down again and start over. I tried using a different type of clear which was suppose to be thicker and not drip. It worked but now I have a problem with orange peel. Back to the old clear and it should look 100 times better.

not to be off subject but how do you get a low res. pic so that you can attach it. My pics are about 1mb a peice and that is way to big. can I downsize the file size of pics already on my computer without having to take them at a lower res?

if you've got orange peel, why not wet sand the thing instead of repainting it? it's easy and should remove most of your problems. i've wet sanded every car i've ever had repainted, sometimes 3 or 4 times.
oh yeah, what kind of rims are they? they look great. any idea how much they weigh?

Some tips, hope it helps:
1. Orange peel could be caused by wrong mixtures... What kind of clear are you using. Chroma or Nason? It should be 4 to 1 part. 4 Part clear and 1 part activator.
2. Also wrong activator, there are 3 types I believe, to adjust to the temp. Wrong activator could cause it to dry slow and in turn causing it to run.
3. Gun pressure adjustments. The tip of your nozzle should said a max psi. So you set your max psi to what the nozzle says.
4. Also you need to adjust the pattern I think the pattern to should half a turn counterclockwise. Starting from it being tight then adjust half turn counter.
5. Also you need to stay 4 to 6 inch from the body of the car. Too close cause runs and two far can cause orange peel.
6. You need to make sure the paint gun is spraying directly at the car. Should never be crooked, or you could get bad cause of orange peel and you ccan feel lumps or car.
Anyway, I hope this help, if you painted before then you know all this,since you use old clear before. Iam just curious as what kind of new clear are you using? There should be a benefit in newer style clears though. Good Luck...

Thanks for the help but the problem is that I switched clears when I got used to one kind and now it screwed me up. I have no problem with sanding out the orange peel but I much rather wetsand something that is already nice and flat than something that feels like sandpaper. With the clear I used on my last projects, it would come out as flat as glass. Some orange peel but only on those hard to reach places. Next time it's going to look perfect and hopefully I'll have the whole car done

I've been getting some emails concerning my CF hood. Let me just say that this hood looks nothing like it does in real life. It is a replica I bought on ebay. Quality is the worst I've seen for CF parts. Fitment is shitty, but I made it work. The guy says it has clear coat but it clearly does not. When I got the hood, the driver side corner broke off (you can kind of see it) and the shipper never helped me with freight insurance. Basically when buying replica CF parts, buy from someone with a good name like RotaryExtreme or RX7Long
Well, if it makes you feel any better the orange peel isn't visible in the pics, it looks really smooth and nice.

The hood looks good in the pics too. Sorry to hear about your bad luck with that. If it's that bad, paint it, it'll look sweet even if it isn't CF.

Looks pretty good, tho sucks it didn't turn out so well. Guess someone can't hone their painting skills all in one night. Rome wasn't built in a day ya know?
