speedo

I have seen gauge clusters and separate speedos that go up to 320km/h, i once saw one from Veilside that went as high as 340, what is the highest that you guys offer, and have you heard of any that are higher, thank you.

speedo

cmon anyone

FDNewbie 11-06-08 10:12 PM

320kph & 340kph are the highest "ready to order" ones we offer. If you want a custom speedo, I can have one designed for you as per your specs, for a bit more than the solo JDM speedos go for.

Thanks,
~Ramy

speedo

Perfect, i am interested in a 340 kph one, anyway could I see some pics ???

FDNewbie 11-09-08 03:10 PM

Pics of what? Other than the Veilside one, no 340 kph one exists. I'd have to make it...as per your specs. So depends on how you want it to look like. I can make it look just like OEM if you want...

yannis-supras 04-22-09 07:22 PM

FDNewbie I have contacted you some time ago regarding an aftermarket speedo as well but I have gotten distracted since then...

The Veilside unit is very interesting. By saying that you'd have to make one per someone's specs do you mean that you can make replicas of the speedometers or can you actually source the genuine Veilside speedo as well?

Please let me know of pricing and availability on both counts.

VeilSideBrian 04-23-09 03:48 PM

I don't think the VeilSide one is still on the market.

yannis-supras 04-23-09 07:36 PM

Hi Brian, would you know if it's still available in the japanese market though?

VeilSideBrian 04-24-09 12:14 PM

I don't know at the moment.

I can email Japan and ask.

Hey Brian...I'd appreciate it if you speak to me first prior to soliciting business in my private paid vendor space ;)

yannis, as long as you're not in a huge hurry, I'm CERTAIN I can find one for you!

Thanks,
~Ramy

I'm simply looking to see if the product is still being produced.
I'm here to help any member who is interested in VeilSide products.

Thank You.

Ramy or Brian one major question first of all; do you know what colour the Veilside speedo lights up? I've heard it's green as the '99 and onwards oem clusters. I'm actually interested in an amber lit speedo. So if that's not the case with the Veilside unit I would not be interested in it. Any other 300kph and over, amber lit speedo would be a more than welcome alternative.

Ramy can you please define "huge hurry"? I mean I don't wanna sound funny or anything here but it's a bit scary to think what you may consider as huge hurry if I was to consider that it took you 10 whole days for your reply after posting on this thread, emailing you at the address you provided in one of our previous correspondences and PMing you as well...

Obviously if you'd turn up like 2 months from now and say "hey gotcha that speedo we were talking about" and then have to deal with the whole organizing, packing, intl shipping and so on then I don't think I could really wait for that long.

I will be putting the car's interior/dash back together in the next 20-30 days so it'd be nice to have the speedo by then so I could put everything back together and not have to do things twice or have to wait just for the speedo to finish off as the car has been off road for 5 months now and I'm getting really anxious.

Again I'm only expressing what I'd be satisfied with, I'm not dictating or even implying how you should/would run your business so please don't get my tone the wrong way here.

Also Ramy could you please elaborate on the custom speedo option that you have mentioned earlier?
A stock looking, amber lit 340kph speedo would be my favorite choice of all and I suppose it would not take as long to make as having to source a rare item from Japan.

I guess that yet another 10 day ignorance on an inquiry in your own vendor's thread verifies my fear stated above...:dunno: :(

yannis, I scour the used market in Japan for this stuff; it's not like I can just pick it up off of a shelf. So ETAs are rough estimates. And I would def. say that realistically you're looking at about 2 or so months...unless one pops up for sale tonight.

Re: the custom speedo option, that's not an overnight process either. We actually tool each speedo face, one at a time. It would prob. take 2-3 months as well, but could be done to look like anything you would like.

Again, sorry for the slow replies, but I don't run an off-the-shelf shop; everything I sell is rare/custom/requires scouring DOZENS of aftermarket sources I have in Japan. And that's time-intensive.

Thanks,
~Ramy

That is understandable, I just wanted to get an idea of what you mean by saying "not in a huge hurry".

The custom speedo sounds the best option for what I would like to have i.e.: over 300kph, stock amber light, don't care about any aftermarket logo, stock look would be all I could ask for. But the ETA of 2-3 months is unrealistically slow unfortunately :(.

Ramy I believe that replying in a timely manner has nothing to do with the availability of the parts. I would have appreciated it hugely if you'd replied in the next 2-3 days on my inquiry instead of 10-15 days later. I sure think that every potential customer of yours would.
