If you guys read this thread carefully, then you should also have come across the thread reference where these issues and other rotary specific issues are discussed. If you connect up and/or program the unit incorrectly, then you might not get complete fuel cut. The RL unit tries to alternate which injectors it cuts so as to balance the effect over all "pistons". Since the rotary uses two injectors on each rotor, those need to be cut at the same time in order to get a true fuel cut. With true fuel cut, there can be no combustion and therefore there is no danger of running lean at WOT or anywhere else.
The other thread suggested that the default RL settings (as shipped) do not provide perfect fuel cut for the rotary. This is because with the progressive and alternating cut scheme the RL uses, sometimes it would cut 1 of the 2 injectors on a given rotor. But with some twiddling, it can be done properly. It was also suggested that even with half of the fuel charge delivered, there still would be no combustion and therefore it would be safe, though you would be dumping unburned fuel in this case. Personally, I will not accept this and I am counting on being able to program it so that it cuts both injectors on each rotor, whenever it decides to engage.

I'm in!
I did search, but I only searched in the 3rd generation section. I guess I should have given the race car tech section a look, but it didn't occur to me.
sorry.
Well if you will stand behind the product 100% as you stated then I'll add myself to the list.

Don't intend to clutter the thread unnecessarily Ramy, just reposting for those too lazy to search for the answer (which was already provided. . . IN THIS THREAD)
yes it's safe. . .if you search the rotary performance subforum you'll find a thread with "traction control" in the title. some good info in there
they don't do the spark cut anymore, only fuel cut.
EDIT:
here's the link

A few quick updates...
1) The Digital Adjusters can be purchased separately (as part of the GB). So you guys are good
2) I'm told everything will be good to go on Monday, so I'd like to post up payment info then (once I confirm it's set), and get the ball rolling.
3) I've teamed up with Rice Racing whom - if you guys have read the other threads on the RaceLogic units - has done a lot of R&D and has come up with a tried & true *fully tested* program for the RaceLogic units. His RaceLogic mapping has been run to highest duty for long periods, and he has even tore down his own motor to verify no ill effects from extended use, backed up with knock readings, etc etc.
And not just that, but as part of the package, you'll not only get the mapping, but Rice Racing will also be providing extended support for this map and getting it running on your RaceLogic unit! It doesn't get better than that!
So needless to say, I believe this will be an EXCELLENT (and IMO *ESSENTIAL*) addition to anyone who's purchasing a RaceLogic unit, and will be installing it on a rotary. Those who decide to purchase the Rice Racing map will receive it along with their RaceLogic unit (ie shipped together).
Rice Racing will be on here shortly to post up his $0.02. For simplicity's sake, pricing info for everything (units, mapping etc) will be posted up all at once...but I can assure you, the price will be VERY attractive, esp. given that other shops charge HUNDREDS for tuning traction control systems
Thanks!

I opt in for 4cylinder unit. From what I understand I am buying the 6cylinder unit with a 4cylinder map. Also for 2-rotor units they are the 6cylinder units with 2-rotor maps.
So my question is, if later on I would like to use my unit on a rotary, could I just buy Rice Racing's map and use the same unit on a 2-rotor?

I've sent in the order list (tentative, of course) to confirm final pricing.
Not sure. I asked about that; I'll have an answer for ya shortly.

Buy the 6cyl unit, it has more wires in the harness v's the 4 cyl which will have less (I doubt there is any board differences, where as when you go to 8 cyl there is from memory hence the price diff)
IF you go the 6 cyl you will have two extra wires from factory in the wiring harness and ONE of them you will need for your clutch switch you can use a small pin to un pick the tab and slide it out of the harness from injector #6 and use it for the full throttle shift.
Aditional out put PIN 21 (pink wire) **take out**
Move to PIN 20 **and run to the OEM clutch switch**
It will save you the hassel of needing to get wire and a special pin that fits in the harness, not to mention the crimping tool !
Even if you order full throttle shift model, it wont come with the wire in pin 20, hence the heads up tip to stick with the 6cyl version

Ok, thanks for the response. I will opt for the 6cylinder model then. As soon as I see the price list I will decide if I want to add the other options on it. As I have the full throttle etc right now currently in my EMS. But depending on price I might just have it added on anyways incase in my next cars I can use it.

rice, remember me?
anyhoo, is your tuned map specific to the 3rotor engine with specific components and rx7? i ask because i have an rx8 with 3rotor that has some internal modifications (using fd housings, lighter rotors, multi piece shaft, etc.)... would your map work?
i guess what i'm asking is... why do we need a map at all when all the racelogic unit is doing is allowing specific slip to the rear tires?
unless your map is just a launch map, which would make sense to me.

I originally used the Racelogic supplied map, and while it worked ok, it was a lot harsher in the cut than Rice's map.
I race at hillclimbs and do 6000 rpm launches with the launch control and its been super reliable!
If any one has any questions drop me a PM

All the units come w/ a basemap for the corresponding motor. It's just that the rotary maps aren't as good, given that our setup is unique (injector setup and firing sequence, etc). That's why Rice Racing's map is better than the base map that comes w/ it.
For your unit, it should work flawlessly. They've been selling those for years. It'll be a baseline map however, not a custom map. The shop charges several hundred dollars for a custom map for your particular setup.
Oh and I know you were one of the guys that was anxious to get the GB rolling so you can get your unit and get setup ASAP. Just wanted to let ya know that everything's been confirmed, pricing has been finalized, and BlueRex will be posting up payment info ASAP. We're pretty much good to go
Thanks for your patience,
~Ramy
