Holy crap, totally forgot about these. I just sent payment for my keys.

20B 3 Rotor 08-16-08 06:26 PM

I just found two flying m keys at my work in the back of a drawer, already cut, but I was just wondering if these were made for anything other then an rx7 because there is no chance we would have an rx7 close to the 2000 year come in where I work, maybe one rx8 but I dont think they would be for that, also it pretty much matches my original key can it be like recut to match?

Miata's use the same key, also protege's (at least my MSP, and a few P5 owners I knew) use it, I'm pretty sure most all Mazdas of that time period used it but I could be wrong. The only difference would be length, I know my MSP key was shorter than the FD's.

Payment for shipping/vin cutting sent, thanks a gain Ramy!!

rash_rvg 08-21-08 04:02 AM

BlueRex, i've sent you 2 PMs with no reply. Need to know my extra costs for vin + shipping to me (Europe, Portugal).

Thks..

B_Hydra 08-21-08 05:37 AM

BlueRex -- I've also left you a PM regarding pricing for getting a cheap keyblank VIN cut in addition to my Flying M keyblanks.

bbade 08-21-08 06:22 PM

When can we expect the keys (no vin cutting, just shipping)?

7_rocket 08-21-08 11:23 PM

Is everyone paid? I'd like to get my keys before I'm 40, thanks

I paid for the shipping within days of the post containing the final cost of shipping. No key yet...

JHew84 08-23-08 11:30 AM

Where's the fire?, did you guys all lose your keys and are waiting on this extra set from Ramy so you can get to work? I think people are getting a little too upset over something as inconsequential as a spare set of keys.... Just my opinion....

If Ramy didn't have a good track record of never ripping people off I might be a little worried, but I know that I'm going to get my keys, I guess I'm just not as concerned about when as some others :tonque:.

I understand your opinion and I'm one that generally appreciates patience. Getting and shipping stuff from Japan is an iffy proposition I would imagine. Ramy wouldn't really be able to tell how long it will take. We waited what, 6 months, for him to be able to source the keys and get them. Perfectly understandable.

However, it has been three weeks we were told he had them in hand and many of us paid the shipping costs right away. I know if I buy something from a forum member and it takes three weeks before I receive the item, or even get a response, I start to ask questions. In this case, Ramy is a respected sponsor on the forum. I frankly would expect quicker shipping. I also didn't notice anyone getting upset, just asking when we might receive something that we paid shipping for a few weeks ago. Just my opinion...

mistaxko 08-24-08 06:24 PM

what is taking so long for the keys to ship out?

+1, I actually agree with you! If Ramy is anything he's extremelly thorough so I'm sure he's working just as hard and quickly to get these processed and shipped as you all are in your attempts to get information out of him.

I would imagine "Vin Cutting" isn't exactly the easiest process to have completed. :Wconfused Especially, for the amount of people in this GB and the fact that he likes to process/ship GB orders all at one time. Just my thoughts...

13Foxtrot 08-31-08 12:28 PM

I didn't get he VIN cutting, so why should that slow down the shipment of ONE key to an individual? Are you assuming that Ramy is waiting until he gets EVERY Vin cut key finished before shipping out ANY of the keys? I don't doubt that Ramy is a very thorough individual and that he has an excellent track record, but if you were under time restraints such as me; you would be trying to light a fire under everyone's ass from Ramy to the damn UPS driver to get you your key. I as well as the vast majority of those involved in this group buy were not anticipating it taking since when? April? To get our keys. I'm trying to be as patient as everyone else, but comments like JHew84's that you commented on just irritate the hell out of me. Nuff' said. I've vented enough for this GB.

I am genuinely interested as to why it is so imperative that your keys be shipped out immediately? I would completely understand if this was a GB for a part that your projected hinged on, but it's not, it's a novelty item that for all intents and purposes could sit in the junk drawer for a decade without causing any issues.

I just don't see the need for people to be getting worked up and throwing around offhanded comments at Ramy, which do little (if no) more good than implying that something shady is going on. Assuming there is a legitimate reason for needing your key immediately, posting publicly is not really the proper method to inform him that your situation requires a deviation from his plan. With that said I can understand frustrations of not getting things as quickly as you may have wanted, I just find it hard to really get worked up over something as trivial as a novelty key personally.

Me too. These are Novelty\SPARE keys. Unless you lost all the keys to your FD and are waiting for this key so you can start your car again there is no reason why something like this could hold up any project. Not sure how your gonna make a duplicate key without VIN cutting if you lost all your other keys though...

Julian 09-04-08 02:41 PM

If you are waiting for a key to start your car. Then head down to your nearest Mazda dealer w/ VIN in hand. That may actually be an FD task they can handle.

13Foxtrot 09-05-08 07:04 PM

Listen asshole. I'm fixing to deploy back to Iraq for the 3rd damn time. I would like to get a chance to at least see my damn key before I leave for the next 15 months. So YES my situation is imperative to get my key. Not to start my car. So keep your stupid ass comments to your self and mind your own damn business. It burns me up to know that there are people like you out there that make those kind of stupid remarks and who are the very people that I am about to risk my life for overseas for the 3rd time.

moosejaw 09-05-08 08:41 PM

I'm sorry you took my comments so personally, when I said "genuinely interested" I was not being sarcastic about the genuine part. I have nothing but respect for soldiers and what they are asked to do, and I feel it is very presumptuous of you to assume you know anything about me or any contributions I've made to the military or otherwise. I still feel making this a public spectacle was a poor choice, and that if you had contacted Ramy personally he would have been more than sympathetic and done everything he could for you.

I wish you a fast and safe return to the US after your deployment, and if you're ever in MI I'd be more than happy to buy a round of beers for you and any friends! (wouldn't be the first time, won't be the last, just shoot me a PM if you're ever up here!) Your job is one I do not wish to handle personally and am very thankful that there are people such as yourself willing to do so, please don't ever think otherwise.

Dude, you made this a public spectacle and we are all involved in this GB waiting for our keys or even a response from Ramy, so therefor it is our business. Because, if you can convince Ramy to get the keys out faster that would help us all. :)

Most people on here who are on any sort of time crunch are running race cars and need their parts to be able to make it to the next event. So, when people on here make statements like yours that you were on a time crunch thats what most people assume, but it seems odd in this instance. If you had said something like "hey Ramy I'd like to see these before I deploy" I'd never say a word to you man. I got nothing but respect for you guys risking your lives over there and it irks me to think some of of you guys risking there lives think otherwise simply for questioning an odd request. Sorry if I offended you man, but you don't have to use your service as a weapon. We all respect you guys for the sacrifices that you make. Your job is something that most of us could never do, and I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone on here who doesn't respect you for it.

Like Jhews84 offered, I'd gladly buy you a few rounds of brew. Hell I'll even one up him and take you to a titty bar if you are ever up here! Free lap dances all night!http://smiliesftw.com/x/stickboobs.gifhttp://smiliesftw.com/x/boobs_1.gif:titty:
