Time Attack season 08

Tomorrow is somewhat the official start of Time Attack season at Tsukuba Circuit.
Tomorrows time attack is the first of 4 or 5 races in the Amuse Time Attack series.
We will be taking out our Time Attack FC and are hoping for good results but there is a catch.

Two years ago the driver/ owner of the car flipped his FC at Tsukuba and rolled 3 times.

Last year we thought he would be able to jump right back into the mix and put down some good times since his simple build FC was able to reach 1 minute 2 seconds. However after building him the new fully built Time Attack FC last season was his first season in it and he did far from good. The first 3 races he couldnt get under 1minute 10 seconds. The last race he managed a 1 minute 5 second pass.

The car is definately capable of a 58 or 59 second pass if not more with a pro driver. However the owner is not pro and we do not know how hard he will push the car this time.

If any of you have a spare second shoot up a prayer that "Kamo-chan" can put the car around Tsukuba in 1 minute or less!

Here is the car for those that have not seen it before.

Well we went out to the Amuse Time Attack yesturday and it was a good day.
Kamo-chan the owner and driver of the red FC was able to somewhat conquer his fear of the final sweeper before the straight. That is the place he rolled his last car so you can imagine thats a tuff spot for him haha. Last season he was only able to put down a time of 1:05.78, Yesturday he made some big progress and put the car through the course in 1minute 2.56 seconds. So he knocked a solid 3 seconds off of his times last year and also beat his personal best of 1.02.88 with his old car that he rolled. There is still lots of room for improvement but hopefully with a new set of tires and a little more time behind the wheel he will be able to take the car under a minute.

The FD's will be out participating at Time Attack races this season. The black FD and white FD both have lots of potential and the owners/drivers are not scared to push the cars but still need lots more seat time before they start putting down sometimes that can turn heads. If we were to pay a professional driver $1,000 for a day of driving the cars we could have some pretty good lap times but that almost seems like cheating if you ask me. I think it looks much better if Joe Schmoe can put his own car around the track fast instead of throughing Johny professional driver in the seat and claiming the car to be super fast when it is more or less the drivers abilities that resulted in such a good time. Just my opinion though.

that is great, glad to see that he was able to lay down some good times. the car is beautiful. i agree with you though id much rather see some regular person whippin it around the track doing just as well as any other prof. out there. well def cant wait to see the FD's out when they can . congrats to you guys and kamo-chan
