soda blaster in okinawa?
 

soda blaster in okinawa? When I lived in Texas we would use a Soda Blaster to clean parts before getting them powder coated or just cleaned up before paint and rebuild.

is there any place in Okinawa that uses Soda? I really dont want use sand or glass as small pieces can get stuck inside then work themselves out later and destroy your engine.

I have search around and im going to end up buying my own soda blaster. so if your in Japan and want something blasted let me know.

I have never heard of a soda blaster. It sounds like a great Idea but I am a bit confused about what the actual material used to blast with is??? Baking soda? Soda-cola-dr.pepper?

If it is baking soda then do you just substitute it for the sand or do you need a different type of set up with higher pressure or more filtration?

Also assuming you are using baking soda, do you only use this process for very fine finish prep work? I am sure you can whack dirt or impurities off of parts with almost any material if you are blasting at the right pressure however baking soda strikes me as not being very abrasive.

I dont know of any Soda blasting places. I can ask around though. I know of a sandblasting place or 2 but... Thats it.

yeah it uses industrial grade sodium bicarbonate (soda) not the same kind you get off the shelf at the store.

what is cool about soda is that it wont pit or scratch the metal like sand does. Also it does not get stuck in little ports and later work it way out and into your motor. I have seen when using glass beads they get trapped in the intake manifold and when they work them self back out they do not compress in the rotor housing and kill the engine.

and when your done just rinse them off with water to clean out any extra soda left on the parts.
