I'm definitely driving down there. Anyone else gonna show? Also, any tips for driving around in central Tokyo? Hopefully, my iPhone will be accurate. I've heard some horror stories.

I was going to go this year but my unexpected separation has put a damper on that. And to answer your question, driving in Tokyo is the worst experience of my life. Terrible traffic, confusing, and just downright annoying.

I know that place. I took one day bus trip with a bunch of elderly people from my city to Kamakura and we stopped there to rest.

Yeah I heard it was shitty to drive, but I'm dedicated to show off my Infini. If anything, I'll stay away from the middle of Tokyo, unless I take a train.

Daikoku parking this year will most likely be shut off by the police once the sun starts to set. When they shut it off they basically close it to all sports cars or modified cars. From what I heard the July 6th rotary event at Tsukuba will be charging entrance fees which is not typical for tsukuba events and is supposed to be something like 3000 yen... I wont be making a trip to that.

July 7th the most fail proof plan would be to go to Umi hotaru (still confused if this is hotaru or hoteru/hotel), but anyhow it is in the middle of the ocean off the Aqua line.

Driving in Tokyo is a pain unless you have a general idea of which direction you want to be heading. My advice is stay on the highways when in Tokyo unless you really need to use the lower roads. Also keep in mind Tokyo has a fair amount of "obisu" which are speeding cameras... I found that out the hard way 5 or 6 years ago.

I always take the train to Tsukuba circuit and walk from the station. You could always park in Shimotsuma and then walk to Tsukuba circuit if you don't want to pay the parking. They charge entry also so even if you walk in you still have to pay 1,000 yen usually.

I didn't know about the event at Tsukuba. It'd be pretty cool to go for my first time. I had planned on going to visit some of the rotary shops and drive around on the 6th, but I got a few days after the 7th to do all that. Tom, you'll have a pm here in a bit.

You WALK from the station! How many times have you done that? I guess it is not all that far but just seems ironic that a car guy would take a train and walk to a race track lol.

Most events at Tsukuba are free to spectators, however over the past 2 years or so larger events have started charging :(

I've walked there probably 50-100 times over the years. Yeah it's pretty pathetic but I don't have money to afford shaken so the car lives at Tsukuba and I just come to drive it or work on it. I'm usually the only other person I ever see walking there, most people drive.

I'm gonna try to get 20 + people going down to that event we're all from around the foosa area

When was the last time you were down at Daikoku on a weekend night? I have not been down for atleast a year if not more. From what I have been hearing the police are stricter than ever at not allowing sports cars in there for big events. My guess is once the sun starts setting they will be closing it off. I will see what I can find out this week. Plan B for July 7th is almost always Umi Hotaru off the aqualine in the middle of the water. This place is fairly trouble free but costs more money, although cruising out there in the tunnel on the aqualine surrounded by 7's is quite the experience. Other than that the only other area I can think of that people might go to that evening might b oi futo which is a drft spot.

This will be all of my goups first time going to either of those PA's, we've all been in Japan for anywhere from 6 months to 4 years, but this will be the first time we have tried to go to something like this. We may just try driving thru Daikoku and just look real wuick before heading to Umi Hotaru where we'll stay for most of the night. Do you know what tomes this really starts at which locations. I know its not organised to much but was wondering If going around 7pm on would be appropriate.

7pm is not a bad time I dont think. I have heard of some people showing up as early as 3 or 4pm but that was about 3 years ago. I have not heard of anyone getting in trouble trying to go to daikoku even when the cops are there to turn people away. All they do is tell you it is closed and you just loop back around and back on to the Wangan.

I am now in Tokyo. Getting pumped for 7's day.

Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy so turn out might not be as good. I've been to Daikoku in the past couple weeks and the cops aren't too bad. But they have been known to close down this event in the past because of the ridiculous amount of cars that show up. Basically hindering any other vehicles from getting in and out easily. I'll be getting there early so I can get some pics of cars coming in down the ramps. Fingers crossed the rain isn't too bad. Stupid rainy season.
