Heavy Duty Welding Table
A couple months ago I decided I lacked table space and I really wanted a nice heavy duty steel welding table. Before, I just used milk crates and a sheet of wood placed on top of it. So, I think this is a nice upgrade. I first drew everything up in 3D to make sure things looked right and printed off all my dimension sheets. It consists of a 36x72x0.25" steel plate on top, 24x71.5x0.125" bottom plate, 2x2x0.125" vertical beams, 1.5x1.5x0.125" support beams, and 4.75x72x0.125" backplates. My horizontal band saw doesn't cut straight anymore so I just had the steel company cut all the pieces to the right sizes. Over, I think it came to about $410 for all the steel and cutting. It is all tig'd together and I think it came out decent.

Looks great, a nice welding table is worth its wieght in gold. Just being able to ground to the table instead of the peice and being able to clamp the part securly makes the price and the work worth it. Nice Welds

What's a really good trick is asking a city construction worker if they're taking apart any bridges. The road deck plating is thick and flat. I used one for a while before I got an professional ACORN table...

Bump. Just found this thread and the newest version of the underfloor here https://www.wankelgarage.com/product...flat-undertray via Google.
This is really cool. I am curious how some side skirts would interact with the flat floor and diffuser. There would probably be some level of demand for this here in Japan. Unfortunately shipping would kill me, and the inability to jack the rear of the car up from the diff would make it too hard to work on the car. Edit: fucking forum made me reply to the wrong thread |
