ok well so far i have a design drawn out on paper so im gonna do a neat one now on paint and ill post it l8r

well heres the list of stuff i think ill need and the price i get it for

pvc pipe-free my grandpa had some lying around i might need to buy one more
i might need one more straight connector though

cloth- again free my grandma sows and had some polyester cloth that should work fine

i still need----

mdf(medium density fiber board)- or some other type of wood if my grandpa has it lying around

epoxy resin and hardener- my neighbor does autobody on high end cars so he should be able to get me a deal

spray glue or a staple gun not sure which way i want to attach the cloth yet

and bondo if i decide to paint it

Also this is my first write up and doing any type of fiberglass or body work
any tips for me are appreciated

so you're going to make your mold out of PVC?

connors14 07-03-09 10:45 PM

sorta the gauges will sit in the pvc and then the connecter will make the pvc piple look a little bit more gurthy which i think ill like and theyll protrude about 3/4 of an inch from the mdf then ill wrap it in cloth and start to build up with the fiberglass and resin i just need to get the gauges cause i dont know how long the actual gauges are and how they attach once i have all my supplies itll be easier to see i might start doing a trial run tomorrow with at least the mold without the cloth

dude.. I hope you can lay fiberglass better than you can structure sentences...

connors14 07-04-09 01:17 AM

ya sorry i didnt sleep last night so thats probably why

leftcoastdrifter 07-08-09 05:05 AM

currently i'm using pvc pipe to hold my gauges in. sounds ghetto but their fit is uncanny. through on some fiberglass and i'd have something really nice.

ya i have all my pieces i need except for my guages which im waiting for a good price on
