fuel injector cleaner

Alright, so I over spent my cash and can't afford to send out my injectors to be cleaned so I started searching DIY stuff on you tube. Yes I know I should have them flow tested and all, but I'm broke, spent way to much on my build. I have to gaurd my nuts while I sleep in fear of my girlfriend seeking revenge.

I have an extra fuel rail with regulator, fuel pump, and scrap wiring harness, and I'm pretty good at wiring. and looks like a fun project.

I do need a little info though since I don't understand this part. How can I get the injectors to auto pulse, (i can use a button if needed) and more importantly how can I do this to low imp injectors. I cant just run 12 volts from the battery. what do I need to run them at the right current

Thanks for any advice.

555 timer driving a power transistor or MOSFET.

I have a similar rig. It's not much use for anything other than injector maintenance.

wait, you're not married and you're worried about what she'll do with your money? that aside...

I think you'll end up spending more on your own bench cleaner/tester. However, you'd then have a tool that you can use again and again. this would only be a positive thing as it will pay for itself rather quickly, provided it does the same job.

i have most of the parts. i just need resisters. should be cheaper. and i can clean my injectors every year for the price of cleaner. win win

me and her live together. maried or not. but she doesn't controll my cash. i payed more for my turbo than her car. but i run outof cash, she gains some power.

Fair enough. ;-)

If you already have most of the parts, I say go for it. My personal perspective is if you can end up with a tool out of the deal for the same or even slightly higher cost.. then it is a good way to go. I never realized it when I was younger, but tools are just awesome to have (providing you have the space to use them all)

Bad boys race our young girls but violet generally wins...

E=IxR.

Voltage=Current multiplied by resistance

Battery makes 12-13.8volts, Low impedance(Tan) injectors is 2-3Ohms and High Impedance (Red)injectors is 10-14Ohms(give or take on both).

Resistance colors:
Black=0
Brown(tan)-1
Red-2
Yellow-3
Orange-4
Green-5
Blue-6
Violet(Purple)-7
Grey-8
White-9

The tolorance:
Gold-5%
Silver-10%

I've seen a simple rig that consisted of a 6 volt battery and a push button; the individual would attach something similar to an airbrush hopper filled with alcohol or any type of cleaner onto the top of the injector, and press(on and off style) the button until all the fluid from the container is emptied. And this person used a jewelery ultra-sound cleaning bath the soak the injectors in as well.

Hope I helped!
Good Luck!
