Well it seemed like downpipes this size were few and far between, or just way to much in price, so i made one, and i love the way it turned out. Let me know what you think

Not bad, looks like you need to knock off the slag. Is that for the T04E? what trim do you have? Gas less welder? Purge the inside?
Pics of turbo?

That's far from pretty but it will work...not bad for MIG. Next time cap the ends with aluminum foil and purge it with argon before you weld the outside.

not required for MIG on SS only for TIG. mig adds too much to the puddle so it dosent crystalize as much on the back side and the build up on the outside is covered buy the nozzle. and being this is the internet and every one wants perfect yes back purging would help BUT this isnt a nuclear reactor and minor imperfections are entirely acceptable. which is why mig can be used. if you want to pay to go over board go ahead but its not needed your wasting money IMHO, whether your paying some one or paying for the gas/setup to do so.

Yeah... I was not trying to build a work of art. I wanted something strong, and wanted it to flow perfectly, and thats what i have. Everyone who has seen the exhaust loves it. All you see is the first 3 inches off the turbo. I'm happy with it. lol

Yes it is for the TO4E, and its for an S trim. I'll have pictures of the turbo up in 2 or 3 weeks

as long as your happy with it thats all that matters. although perfect flow i doubt as every one of those connectios i guarantee is not a perfect seal and the raised ridges will provide turbulance in the pipe multiplied a bunch being in the bends themselves better would have been to run mandrel bends with from the looks of it you could have gotten away with 1 weld seam in the middle of the straight section from the looks of it. its much easier to get straight pipe weld seems lined up flush than in a bend.

but im sure you learned alot in the process of making it and if you make another it will be far superior to this one im sure. nice job hope you learned alot doing your project.

let me ask you though Would you change anything if you did it again?

There are not any ridges on the inside, all you see is good heat penitration:)
I dont think i would change anything. The whole exhaust looks great, and its tight to the car.
I will post up video of what it sounds like later hopefully.

It looks like you cut straight pipe to make your curves? If so, why didn't you just buy some bends errors from ebay? I bought 10 3" bend errors a couple years ago for like $45.00. This way you don't have to cut straight pipe to form your bends sections. It's not that big of a deal on your bottom section because of the large radius but the top could have used a pre-bended pipe. This will also leave A LOT less welds. ;)
