Best place to get exhaust manifold materials...

I know in the past I've had to search a couple times to find the best place when trying to buy materials for whatever project. So I had the idea of compiling a thread with a list of best suppliers of the different materials needed to build a manifold.

For 304 2" u-bends I've found Columbia River Mandrel Bending to have the best prices. You can also get nice 1/2" mildsteel wastegate and turbo flanges for a good price.

I know some people prefer to use thicker material, so for any schedule piping I only know of McMaster Carr to get bends. Any others out there?

My current quest is to find a good place to get a nice 1/2" mild steel 13b engine flange that fits nicely on a 2" o.d. tube. I've used the Racing Beat flanges before and they look kinda cheezy for me and fit loose on a 2"... Where is everyone getting their flanges?

Anybody else have any other good sources??

www.airflo.com is good for cheap v-bands and v-band flanges.

They also have alot of other stuff too.

Columbia is good, I bought their kit to make my manifold.

http://www.woolfaircraft.com/ is also good, I got my 5" to 3" reducer from them.

Oh I forgot about this place too, http://www.coneeng.com/index.html. They have all kinds of stuff but specialize in cones/megaphones.

Burns Stainless is overpriced. I've found good prices through summit racing for magnaflow bends and verocious motorsports has good prices on strait tubing, V-band kits and some tame exhaust tips. I refuse to spend more on a tip than I did on the muffler.

www.acestainless.com has pipe elbows very cheap.

racing solutions also carries v-bands at a very reasonable price.

if you need flanges, i can probably help you out. just send me a pm.

No one here has yet mentioned the Yellow Pages.

Most communities of any kind will have an industrial plumbing supplier. Check the local Yellow Pages. From such suppliers you can get SCH10 (and other thicknesses) stainless weld els commonly used for manifolds. My local supplier has anything I want in SCH10 316 in stock virtually whenever I walk in. The price may be a bit higher the mail order, but you can't beat the convenience of being able to just pick up whatever you want locally. Of course they will also carry SCH40 mild steel as well, if that's your manifold making preference.

care to say whom your supplier is Aaron?

If you are looking for stainless tubing, your local scrap metal yard is a good place too check. It can be found for a dollar or two per foot.
