calling all Ex-Yugoslavians....:)
how are you doing people?
I haven't been here for some time.....how are the cars running? doca:) |
Hey ....is it true that you can't register car older than 5yrs in Serbia and Montenegro( this question is for the folks from Ex-Yugoslavian republics ), but if anyone knows anything about this matter ...plz. help
doca:) |
Zdravo Doca,
Where did you hear this? As far as I know there where no retrictions, when I was there. Only if you're importing a car from another country, which I suggest is probably a cheaper option, you have to register within 30 days of passing customs inspection. |
I got the info from my friends in Belgrade.
I was planning to get my 7 over there. But if I can't register it I'm screwed in a way. |
Well if you're friend who lives in Beograd says so, he probably knows about it better than anyone since he is still there.
But somehow it seems somewhat unrealistic beacause I'm sure many of the farmers in Crna Gora can't afford new cars every 5 years |
Thats the confusing part....hehehe.....but farmers in our country have probably more money than people in the city.
Kako je u San Francisku? |
My FD is running at its best ;)
About the age of imported cars to Serbia- maybe they're just trying to avoid the problem of getting all the junk cars into the country, like there is a situation in BiH (we exported all our Yugo's and Zastava's downthere). |
hey cruiser,
sorry to hear about your car..... I see now the connection why they would do that. How are the things in Slovenia? are rotary cars popular there (in other words have you seen any besides yours :) ) |
Sorry to hear about my car ? There's nothing wrong with it :)
Rotary cars are very rare in Europe in general. There are only 2 FDs in Slovenia, mine and soru81's (he's also on the forum). Both red FDs and there's also a green FC for sale atm. It sucks to own a rotary overhere. I mainly went for the car for its looks and performance. If I could, I'd put a turbocharged ls1 into it :D ;) |
I'm planning to get mine over to Serbia. But it seems like it would be rare over there.
|
It'd be very rare, plus, it'd probably get stolen :(

Why should anybody want to steal it?
|
Because its a common practice in those republics :(
|
I remember one morning I found my Yugo standing on bricks.....this was in '94 though.
but on the second thought, now they have better cars in Belgrade than here in Los Angeles. Why would anyone waste time on the car thats 20yrs. old...heehehh |
