Innovative vs AEM Wideband reading comparison
Hi guys.
I have for some time notised that different models of Wideband gauges differ more then accepted. From the beginning my initial thought was that the sensor was worn or damaged but that was not the issue. Changing to another sensor and calibrate do not change the difference.
These measurements are done 2 gauges at the same time in 2 bungs in the same downpipe using the Innovative as reference.
Innovative reading 11.8AFR
Techedge reading 11.8AFR
AEM reading 11.0AFR
Depo reading 10.8AFR
I have not yet checked Haltech CAN wideband but will do soon.

There is a thread discussing widebands versus standalones and the sensors used to calibrate readings(sorry I didn't post a link) I would contact C. Ludwig at lmsefi.com, IIRC he did not like using the innovate with the Haltech

The fact that i was burning through 60 dollar sensors every 2 weeks. had the AEM on for a few months. Havent had a problem.
Also you SHOULDNT need to do any calibrations to the aem. Says right in the manual, ready from the factory. Seems like i was calibrating my innovate like once a month.

Don't they all use Bosch sensors though?

AEM might not need to be calibrated but if it shows 0.8 wrong AFR value, what good is it to have? I have bought new techedge gauges to test and compare also. I have the best experience with techedge. They also have a function that warn you when sensor overheat and give you false readings. Innovate and AEM just goes on and show you missreadings.
