Microtech vs PFC

Hey i know most of u guys out there are running PFC's but was just wandering if microtech is any good? I heard here in new zealand that microtech is actually pretty much made for a FD3 and that its cheaper. Any suggestions?

might want to check the EMS section for details.

the reason most ppl use PFC's is b/c it's plug and play and easy to use.

You'll have alot more options and flexability with a microtech.

so bottom line microtech is just as good as a PFC but with more options?

Basically your ECU is only as good as the tuner. Here in Singapore all the rotaries run on either Microtech or Autronic due to the availability of tuners. PFC ain't popular here cause we got no support for the product here and many workshops aren't too sure how to tune with the handheld. I understand the Microtech is 16 bit processor while the PFC is only 8 bit unless you get the newer edition. Microtech also comes with more functions but it also depends which model of the microtech you order.

Hm,.. great feedback. Here in NZ microtech is about 500 hundred bucks cheaper and yeah i too have heard that microtec is more comprehensive than the pfc but just plug n play. How would u tune a microtech btw? sounds like it would be more to tune microtech than a pfc.

Well I got my microtech here for about S$1600 which is about $1300 Aussie I think. Tuning is done with the hand held controller or with a laptop. I understand they have to rewire the harness which can be a real hassle as it may screw up your cold start or idling. Product is good but can't beat PFC for convenience.

you can buy a plug in microtech for the FD as well, no wiring is required, just unplug the facotry ecu and plug in the microtech
