Microtech/Apexi Question
Okay guys I bought a 93 FD and have some questions that you more than likely will easily answer.
The car now has a microtech LT10-s in it. Also had a Haltech E6K laying in back of car that used to be the computer before old owner switched. And an Apexi AVCR hooked in glovebox and hooked up to turbos but all the wires like purple, red, grey and such are not hooked up to anything so dont turn on. Question is now that the car has the Microtech LT10S hooked up do you believe I need/ should keep and hook back up that Apexi AVCR to the microtech, Or is that not neccasary when running the Microtech? And how can I find out if the Haltech actually works or not I only have the ECU itself. If I dont need obviously I will try to sell both units. The Apexi also has the little timer unit and multiple different wiring pigtails in box yet. Thanks alot guys! |

It sounds like you have 3 generations of engine management, but you should take your time on deciding what's what. Both the older e6k and the Microtech LT10s are full engine management systems that can control your boost, so the Apexi AVCR is unnecessary, assuming one or both of the EMS units work. The Microtech is the newer unit and is pretty robust. That's the one I would use, assuming, again, that its in good working order.

Isn't the Apexi AVC-R a boost controller versus EMS like the Haltech and Microech? I'm pretty sure the Microtech has some boost control capabilities but the Apexi has a lot of fancy stuff on it so you may wish to use both.

The Apexi ACV-R is a boost controller, it is not the S-AFC which is an air/fuel controller.
