Intercooler,dp, cb, intake . . . time for ECU?
Hi, i'm getting the above installed. Pettit assures me i don't need a ECU because my boost should stay at 10psi with the way they set up the vaccum hoses (if it overboosts a hose will pop off in a easily accessable area; i just replug it). Should i just get a boost controller to be safe or is it time for a PFC? Opinion's and expert advice welcome
Thanks, Clayton T. |
I would say its time for a chipped ecu or an fc...

Expert advice: You already got that from Pettit. ;) |
Haha, yeah you're right Aviator. I just keep hearing, "Intercooler=ECU" and i'm just scared i'm going to ruin my newly sealed engine.

WTF does intercooler = ECU mean?
if you get a fmic youre goign to need a standalone? Im a bit confused. |
If your boost stays at 10 psi, then you will be fine on the stock ECU. If you are boosting above 10 psi, then it is time for a remapped ECU or stand alone unit.

I just got the car back from Pettit and i am very happy with the results. I haven't boosted past 10psi yet and i've WOT the car acouple of times on the 5hr drive back home. Cam is very knowlegeable and assured me i won't have any boost spikes in FL weather BUT i should watch out on cold days because it could spike to 12psi at most; Also, as a safe proof they made a sort of "budget pop-off valve" with my vaccum hoses . . . if it overboosts one of the hoses in a easily accesable spot pops off avoiding spike; Pettit Racing is AWESOME :D
