HKS super afr or Apex'i Super afc

I have an 88 RX-7 turbo II with a modified turbo and other mods. I am putting in larger injectors in the secondaries and am in need of a fuel computer. I was wondering if I should go with the HKS AFR or the Apex'i Super AFC. I heard the HKS unit is better, but isn't as easy to use and you have to remeber all of your settings. Anyone who has used these could you give me some advice.

The the HKS is more functional, the Apexi is prettier... I have an HKS but I'm ready for a standalone. I'm surprised nobody has commented on this yet! Try maybe a DSM forum...

I'm a big supporter of the A'pexi S-AFC. It worked like a charm when I had it and it's a good piggyback fuel computer if you do not already have some type of fuel management. The problem with it though is that you can not tell the S-AFC what size injectors you are running. The S-AFC works on + or - % increments. The problem with this is that 5% added fuel from a 550 CC injector to a 1000 CC injector is a big difference.

My advice would be to just go ahead and spend the extra cash on a stand alone.

Hypothetically, If I owned an FC, I would want to get a Haltech;)

I just started to tune my fd with an Apex'i Super afc and it seems to work nicely, i can raise and lower the A/F ratio easily and consistantly.

does the super afc control boost? I am running 13lbs of boost with the stock ecu and I need a computer before I blow my engine.Or do I need an aftermarket ecu and a boost controller?

No
I think you would need to run an Apexi AVCR or something like that. Check it out on their website, its a nifty unit but for the price you can almost go with a standalone... well sort of :o:

S-AFC is working fine for me;) I'm running 300 FWHP with Air Conditioning and a stable 750 RPM idle. I adjust it depending on cold or hot weather, using my Haltech A/F monitor. Yellow under boost, Green at Idle, Red is a No, No (lean).
