HKS PFCF-Con questions. need help
Hi. Hows everyone doing? I have a bunch of questions about this HKS F-Con. No, It's not the V-pro or anything, just about the "old school" HKS PFC F-Con.
I read around about it and seen some good reviews but mostly bad reviews. I understand that its just a piggyback and shouldnt be used when doing big mods like single turbo or boosting more PSI and stuff in which case you need a standalone. But I don't have the money for a standalone and im not doing any super big mods right now anyways..... So basically: What exactly does the F-Con do? Does it need to be tuned? How is it tuned? is there a controller on the thing or anything or do you need to take it to a shop somewhere to tune it? The tune that it comes with, will that add enough fuel to keep me from running lean? How does it connect? For now I want to start off with minor mods such as intakes, downpipe, midpipe, exhaust, intercooler, ic piping, and stuff like that. If I use those mods with the stock ECU i will be running lean right? That is why i figured that i needed a Fuel computer like the F-Con which is cheap and will get the job done. Am I right? any help will be appreciated. Thanks. |
correct. the fcon will increase the cycle duty of your injectors. dont think it retards timing above certain boost so that is a downfall if so. It handled 12-14psi on my block. i they also sell a gcc that piggy backs the fcon for further tubing ability. I have a fcon and I like it. My gcc is on the way..we'll see how it is
ps. I wouldnt run 12psi+ without bigger injectors. 8-10psi should be fine. plus i have a streetport(eats more air) |
Pop the cover off and theres a screw adjustment on the inside....easy as you can get....if you get one, make sure its for your turbo. I have one thats out of the car if you want the numbers....

i have one with the rtek1.7 and it did great on stock turbo stock ports. it was set on level 8 and i was running 14psi with out any problems and power was realy nice. i will be beaking in my motor with that setup but will have to jump over to standalone to realy drive the car. if your looking for one i can send it to you cheap in a few weeks if your running a S4. but for a cheap low cost resort here not to bad

I'm about to run one with my system glad I found this thread, where is the rom chip at? I haven't seen one on HKS's website.

Oh I actually had another question that I haven't been able to find, the F-Con does not have the ability to use larger injectors correct? Such as 720CC secondaries? Because it's only really a fuel controller and not a complete piggyback?
