Haltech and OMP (FD)

The OMP on my FD has failed (for a second time ugh) and I am currently running Haltech 1500. The stepper motor sensor is stuck in raw max reading (voltage at 4.59) and I hate to run it and drive it around my yard. I cant replace it until spring.

If I unplug the OMP, will it continue to inject oil in an analog/static state? Or can I count on it being off?

How is the pump wired? Are you using a patch loom?

You don’t know where the stepper motor is parked, so you have no idea how much oil would be injected. You can premix but the OMP may be parked in max flow. Worst case it fouls some plugs, I guess. If you just need to move it around, throw some premix in and you’ll be fine.

Glad to see Haltech saved your motor.

I was toying with the idea of keeping the OMP with a separate tank, but I honestly think I seeing multiple threads like this has me leaning toward blocking off the OMP and just doing 100% premix.

Thanks for the replies. The potentiometer inside of the unit has indeed failed. And for anyone reading in the future, I now also concur that the OMP if unplugged will remain parked in that position.
