FD owners with HKS PFC-FCON? What settings?
I know there aren't many F-CON users for the FD around, but maybe someone can help.
The unit comes with a dial calibrated 0-9, from stock to rich. My mods are HKS DP, Cat-back, and RB cold air duct. The previous owner had it set on 3 with just K&N and a DP, with 0 being stock and 9 being very rich. I do occasionally get a boost spike to 14-15 in cold weather, so a boost controller is in order. But is there any rule-of-thumb setting I can use for my mods or is it just trial-and-error while the car blows black smoke? I don't have coin for an EGT or AF guage yet. Someone said there is an HKS mod reference chart somewhere at the RX-7store, but I can't find it. Any help or suggestions? |
there used to be one in the resources section of the forum, but it didnt say for this and this turn to 9.
the way i tuned mine was to make it really rich and lean it out gradually. i had one on my t2 and i could make it hesitate and sputter it was so rich, i had a "big" fuel pump in there the fcon ended up way leaner than i thought it would, with an intake hollow cats and an n1 it was on 1 mike pm me if you want more help |
Will do. :) Too bad the adjustment knob is INSIDE the unit and sealed with 4 screws, but I guess I can leave it open on the passenger seat.
Better grab a set of plugs as well if I start out rich. |
haha yeah that why mine was too rich for a long time i actually put it under the carpet...

 I have the F-Con installed in mine but I dunno which is a correct setting for the FCD. I have RE-Amemiya intake, PFS downpipe, midpipe, Tanabe G-power get back. And boost spike at 4200rpm. Will a eletronic boost controller help reducing the boost spike?
Please help thank you. |
Oh yea mine is a 93 base FD. with 277hp on dyno.
