F-Con V Silver tuning
Anyone have any knowledge on tuning these, i have the cable, software, and some documentation on it but the power writer just says communication error no matter the config I try. I've tried with dip switch 8 on and as my F-Con has 2 rj12 ports I tried both. First green led is illuminated when trying because I have the ignition turned on as I believe it is supposed to be.
If anyone has any ideas or experience that would be great to hear. |
I myself love HKS Fcon! All my cars are on FCON, even my Cosmo 20B.
For the silver version, you first need to share the serial number to understand what you have, + the software version you use to read it. There is a common misunderstanding for the FCON being a piggy-back, that is partly true, but many (all gold versions) can be used as stand alone. Also, the silver Ver2.1 can be used as stand alone in some cases, but none of the silver versions before, hence the version is important here. Best, Iwan |
Below is a picture of the only info printed on my FCON. Originally appears to have been for an FC but it is installed and works just dandy on my single turbo FD I recently imported. The PowerWriter software I have is F-CONS PowerWriter Version 1.03. The configuration in my car appears to be as a piggyback unit as everything is still plugged into the ECU as well.

You have indeed the piggy-back FCON, one of the less preferred options.....
I for myself do avoid this type of FCON and I cant advice on SW to use as I simply don`t use this versions.... My advise would be to get rid of it. If you still like to stick to piggy back with FCON, I would suggest to use fcon IS instead. The IS version will open up you wide options even for serious power (I myself used IS version on my 2JZ-GTE Aristo) and the harness is interchangeable between the version you have and the IS. Sorry for not being able assist you further...... |
No worries, I'm going to stick with it for now because it works great I was just hoping to have more control over the tune.
