Engine dies when throttle depressed

90 convt., engine bucks and dies when throttle depressed more than 1/4". Also, it sometimes requires throttle blipping when started cold but not always. Code 38 = AWS. No modifications 50K miles Any suggestions? Know any good central Connecticut mechanics?
