Best Wideband O2 sensor?

I am currently looking for a wideband o2 sensor. I need to know what would be my best choice for value, I don't want to spend a grand on one. Any information would be appreciated.

im used the AEM WB with my 8 and getting one for my 7... believe they come with bosch..

M14socom 04-08-09 07:47 PM

Are you talking about the aem 6-1 eugo controller?

muibubbles 04-08-09 08:06 PM

yep, 6-1 is just the face/bezel combinations if i remember correctly

M14socom 04-08-09 08:39 PM

Anyone else have anything to say about the aem one? Is there a better one?

rothvanberg 04-08-09 08:51 PM

I like the inovate lc-1 with db gauge kit better than the aem kit

arghx 04-08-09 09:05 PM

depends what you want to do with it. if you want to run race gas and keep accuracy you need something with an NTK sensor (like the NGK AFX)

FDWarrior 04-08-09 09:09 PM

innovate makes a good wideband.

parid 04-08-09 09:33 PM

+1 for the innovate lc-1/lm-1

muibubbles 04-08-09 10:29 PM

yeah aem is like a moderate level? innovative is like baller status.. since all they really make are wb..... pricey tho

Innovate LC-1

blacksi 04-08-09 10:59 PM

I returned the POS innovate to run an FJO and haven't had anymore issues. With the LC=1 you have to do free air calibrations and crap and after sitting over the winter last year I couldn't get it to work again. I have had 0 problems with my FJO.

arghx 04-09-09 08:38 AM

the early model LC-1's were problematic (6 wire models). They should be avoided. The calibrations are not a big deal at all. They are there to improve the accuracy of the factory sensor calibration. Calibrations are used in OEM wideband applications (VW). You press a button (or flip a switch) for a few seconds and then you don't have to worry about it again for a long time. The wiring seems confusing at first but there are writeups on here.

If you plan to do any datalogging on a datalogit, stay away from the AEM, as it is problematic in that department.

Yea I'm definitely going to be using it datalagit. Does that mean the lc-1 would be the best choice?
Thanks to everyone for the information.

The LM-2 seems like a pretty good deal, does it work in conjuction with datalogic? It would be nice because I could use it on my other cars "eagle tsi and camaro", would it be worth the extra 100 or so?

M14socom 04-10-09 09:47 AM

So If I'm using a Power Fc should I go with the lm-2 or lc-1?

Whats the difference between the LC-1 and LC-2?

Vicoor 08-22-14 09:18 PM

I've been using the LC-1 for about 7 years. I like it because you can tweek the output so you can match the digital reading and the analog reading to your engine management.

Two things I don't like about it is the form factor, and It needs sensor replacements too frequently. (Man I shouldn't have said that because my sensor will die tomorrow)
But really it's been more than a year since I replaced the one I have now.

As far as the form factor, Innovate has a digital gauge with a integral controller now (like the AEM), so that would take care of the form factor part.

To the question what's the difference between a LC-1 & LC-2, The LC-2 is the new version and as far as I know it replaced the LC-1

I think I'd try the NGK Powerdex AFX if I was in the market now though.

ahem.. at the risk of thread necro

the PLX AFR and DM6 touch screen system is now gen 4 and features lsu 4.9
and new features including health status

i use the gen2 plx afr2 ( lsu 4.2 ) in my daily user and it has been faultless
and it displays trend, warning flags and displays in my choice of petrol/diesel/lpg/methanol AFR or in lambda
one of the cheaper units out there,, with no issues with burning up the probes , and unique display and features
