Anyone using a self tuning system?

I have a 13b semi pport and was wondering if I can replace my microtech system with a self tuning one.

In my experience, some work better than others. But, at the end of the day, there is no substitute for properly calibrating a system with the right tools. I wouldn't buy or sell a system based on its ability to self tune.

I use an SM4. Its not an ecu I'd recommend for novices however.

Adaptronic's version does work, but it does require situational awareness. It does not work when one is not in steady state( throttle has to be steady);

I'm using a Wolf v550. It has self-tune capability. You need a few things before it's practical:

1) A "typical" operating temperature and range. E.g. engine temp=85 degC, air temp=25 deg C.
2) A relatively steady operating state. E.g. 2000 RPM at 7% load for long enough that the ECU can read and adjust to the Lambda reading. For my Wolf, it needs to be at that cell for approx. 2 seconds before adjusting.
3) No transient state modifiers active (e.g. can't be doing accel enrichment, low air temp compensation, etc).
4) You probably can't effectively tune in boost areas because the ECU won't be in that load point long enough because of acceleration & rising RPM's.

Other than that, I'm pretty happy with being able to dial in my AFR's and have the ECU adjust everything slowly over time.
