I don't think that you guys should really be doubting this guy!!!! If I'm not mistaken....Jason from AEM??? If it is, I think you guys will eat your words.
If it is Jason that I'm thinking of....I emailed you about a week ago about the ECU. Any word on that yet? turborx7@lvcm.com Could you please email me....I would like to talk to you about a couple of things....thanx...Elliott |
Yes, it's me. We are still looking at end of January for availability.
Jason (AEM) |
Hey Jason!
You guys better hurry up and get the ECU going! I have a fully built 2002 RSR in the shop waiting for it and if it works out then I'll probably try it in a rx-7!:) crispeed 87TII 9.20@150mph 1/4 5.90@120mph 1/8 1.31 60ft 651RWHP/520RWTQ T-72 2600lbs |
I have no problem eating my words nor does Poweraxel. If he does what he says he does than he deserves all the respect he gets. There aren't to many out there who can safely get there, and I'll know that there will be one more source of info that I can trust should I come across a problem that maybe he has already solved.I know I don't have to doubt poweraxel,crispeed,riceracing,I can trust the source any time they make a post. Just keep in mind how much crap gets posted or regurgitated from people who do nothing but live on these forums,and how few actually get the car tuned to a optimum level let alone do it themselves. Oh and Jason, I don't know, those smilies don't look like 680hp smilies to me:D keep tryin.
|
Silver94r2: huh... eat what words?? i dont care who "Jason" is..... if he did 660hp from that set up, then great for him. if he could find his dyno sheet that would be cool too
I suppose you seen his car and been in it personally or are you just stating what you heard? Steve |
What I love with his setup is the big turbine wheel, big a/r & big 4" exhaust.... I would love to know this 680 hp is real and that we all can get a chance to see it in action....:cool:
|
Well let me start by saying that I'm sorry if I offended anyone....I wasn't trying to flame. I was just stating some of the things that I've "heard". I know how critical people can be on here unless your one of the approved GODS. I was just trying to say give the guy a chance....from what I've "heard" he knows his shit. I just wish that I could get some help from someone like this. It seems as if I keep getting the run around from everyone that I meet. I've spent around $20k on my car in the last year and it still doesn't run and I'm trying to get ready for next season. Jeesh! :( Boo Hoo Hoo
|
Damn you guys with dyno access and tuning knowledge. I cant even get my cars tuning close to optimal and all I've got is stock twins with all the boltons, fuel upgrades and Power FC!!!!! I have no rotory tuner with a dyno withing a days drive, cant even find anyone with a wideband to let me borrow!!!!!
And you guys are talking about 680 like its nothing!!!!! Maybe my prob is I dont have Jasons new AEM computer. Doesnt it have self tuning capabilities with a wideband like the new Haltech is going to have??? I hope so cause I cant keep rebuilding my motors. Life isnt fair!!!! Anyone want to come to Birmingham, Al with a wideband and tune my car???? Later, STEPHEN |
I don't like like SX fuel pumps... They do not support high HP... That car should be using a Aeromotive Pro or Weldon pump! IF the Horsepower figures are TRUE.
|
The aeromotive pumps are DEFINATELY better than the SX, however I wouldn't go as far as to say they don't support high horsepower. What is your definition of "High Horsepower"?
Jason. |
I don't know what results you've gotten with the SX fuel pumps Jason, but I've never seen one suppot over 420 RWHP safely in a turbocharged vechicle both piston or rotary. They always seem to suffer the same problem of maintaining fuel pressure under boosted conditions. They don't have the volume to maintain that hp at higher fuel pressure. I had them flow tested at various pressure levels to confirm this plus if you were to ask the original designer of the pump or better yet the the people who made both the Paxton and Aeromotive pumps, they would confirm this.
I hope you based your opinion on real world load testing and not by what happens on the dynojet dyno or the results of just one lucky individual.:) crispeed 87TII 9.20@150mph 2600lbs |
Mine has no problem maintaining 75 psi through out the rev's, I have heard the same thing from several people, however I typically live by the rule "if it aint broke, don't fix it". I actually made a bracket to hold 2 of these pumps, and I always carry a second one with me incase I need it, so far, the logs show I maintain pressure, and the Uego sensor confirms it.

Someone told me you're a very knowledgable person!:) Have you been running the AEM in your car for 3 yrs now? crispeed 87TII 9.20@150mph |
I have had a version of what our current release will be, for about 2 1/2 years. Our newer unit does a ton more stuff, and has some of the best tuning features I could dream up.

It's supposed to be able to control the variable cam timing on this car etc. It also have a lot more features than the Hondata ecu. I like the pro version most of all! If it works out good then I'll try it in the 7 :) crispeed 87TII 9.20@150mph |

There is no difference between the plug and play and race versions! The race version just comes with a universal wiring harness.
The unit has way more features than any haltech, MoTec, or PFC, and is less expensive! Jason. |
Is there any chance of a plug and play unit for the 86-88 TII? or is to limited of an application to warrant manafacturing costs??
I am leaning towards buying a used wolf 3d right now or a Greddy e-manage, but would look at a AEM computer if it was a reasonable installation.. Whats the igntion configuration like on the computer, does it give full control of leading and trailing ignitions? how many injectors does it support? high or low impedence?...Max |

AEM=ProEfi!:)
ProEfi=AEM!:) JG=Edelbrock!:) Edelbrock=JG!:) crispeed |

Yes, you can buy a haltech for $1200.00, but you have to wire the car, change sensors, and you still have no oil metering pump control, dos based software, no traction control, no nitrous control, no boost control, no knock control, and I could go on and on. Our unit will retail for $1863.00 complete, good luck getting anything that will do all of that for anywhere close to $2k, let alone under $2k.
